We were able to organize our 8th annual Indigenous Dignity Human Rights March in San Antonio,TX .Two demands are designate October 12th as Indigenous Peoples Day and Stop Celebrating Columbus Day. Indigenous Peoples Day should be celebrated as a Texas State Holiday not Columbus Day, time to grow up and wake up and stand up for our Human Rights.
Oct.15th 2011 Indigenous Dignity Day Human Rights March was successful due to the cooperation of friends and the coming together of Occupy S.A. and our Texas Indigenous Council. The City gave our Indigenous Human Rights March a Proclamation for a 2nd year, but what we want now is a Resolution that recognizes the Indigenous People of this area not just a Proclamation that recognizes the March as an event.. Another item we will continue to demand is the removal of Columbus Day and the acceptance of Indigenous People`s Day. Join us as we move forward into the coming year.
We Marched and Rallied against the racist Texas legislation of SB 9. We will not stay quiet when our People are under attack by Racist Politicians. SB 9 was defeated on the day we Marched & Rallied July 2nd 2011. We will be organizing for our annual March for Indiogenous Human Rights this Oct. 15th 2011. Stay tuned for more info.
